Having integrated pixinsight into my workflows I now rend to do noise reduction on linear data early. but the again I was also using mask tools like tony kyper's tk7 luminosity mask tools. Another technique was using masks to protect stars and focus topaz on whatever I wanted to denoise. I certainly took the time to either remove stars and topaz the starless image on nebulosities. Topaz AI was a go to solution but not just like that. They can be too harsh and there is no milder editing, unless I do it myself.īefore I started using pixinsight I was massively doing images in photoshop. ![]() BTW, this isn't only true for Topaz, but also some downloadable action sets for Photoshop. Surely it can make any image look nice and smooth, but for the expense of details. In other settings I tested, It didn't do a whole lot of improvement. Maybe I just started to get very nit-picky and pixel peeping too much, but he "severe noise" option with the lowest settings just removes too much detail. I noticed, even on the lowest settings it over sharpens the stars that they lose their shape. Is it a useful addition to Pixinsight, or is it basically just the same thing we do in Pixinsight, but through AI? So, in the end, is it worth adding to my software arsenal, and will it show any improvement on top of the normal processing? Thanks for your experience and input. Finally, version 6 adds support for 4K monitors and allows working with larger file sizes.Looking for anyone with experience with the Topaz programs. New camera-specific noise reduction presets have also been added, though we aren't sure if the initial production release contains any Pentax profiles. The key new feature in DeNoise 6 is the ability to run the program as a standalone application, rather than as a plug-in for Photoshop, etc. This promotion runs from now through the end of February, 2016.ĭownload Topaz DeNoise 6 (free trial or $30 off this week) New users can download a free trial or take $30 off the regular price of $79.99 by applying the coupon code NOISEFREE at checkout. Proprietary algorithms allow DeNoise to reduce noise while leaving most file details intact.įor existing owners, DeNoise 6 is a free upgrade. DeNoise can help eliminate noise when it's just too stubborn to be easily removed by built-in tools in the aforementioned programs. ![]() Topaz Labs has just announced Topaz DeNoise 6, a powerful noise-reduction program that we feel is a must-have alongside a main photo editing application such as Photoshop or Lightroom.
